As new cars develop we start to see complex technologies come to light, as well as that we are starting to see a whole to shape to cars. But one thing that has remained the same since the creation of vehicles are the colour of the tyres. Whatever destination you go to around the world you will see a vehicle that has black tyre. This has been a problem on my mind for years, so I just decided to approach the manufacturers and ask the reason why?

After my thorough information find I have come to the idea that tyres are always black because of one of two reasons.

1) Black tyres are created for a scientific reason. The dark colouring is basically carbon powder which is added to the rubber. The Carbon gives alot more power to the tyre.
2) Tyres were not always black, around 8 decades ago we used to have white tyres, but as well as being expensive these tyres caused a major problem with manufacturers as they were always having to be replaced as they were a much softer form of material.

So there is the answer, tyres are specifically made a black colour to strengthen itself, we all know that carbon emits a black colour. Well if you was really craving different coloured tyres then you could paint them. But what sort of lifespan would this paint have? Half a fortnight? 2 Fortnights? 12 Months? In the end if the paint is being slammed on the floor at 70mph it is bound to come off in no time what so ever. If anyone does decide to ask you the question. Why are tyres black? Then you realise what to tell them in reply.
