Toppie or not? New four-seater convertible Maser
Maserati has scored a scoop in-house and introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show its first four-seater convertible, aptly named GranCabrio. "The introduction of the GranCabrio makes Maserati's full product line," says the manufacturer. Maserati is now three different model series: Quattroporte, GranTurismo and GranCabrio.
The GranCabrio is powered by a 4.7 liters V8 engine of 323 kW and is the convertible with the longest wheelbase on the market and has a soft top. And yet it is a true Maserati. The design is by Pininfarina, and it is aiming the big convertible at the men and women who appreciate a discreet but sophisticated lifestyle and, importantly, it also can pay or have a friendly relationship with their lender.
Maserati says further: "Actually put the GranCabrio the tradition of open Maseratis seamlessly continue and add this model in the line of major convertibles in the history of the automobile manufacturer from Modena, like the 1950 A6G Frua Spyder, the 1960 3500GT Vignale Spyder, The 1964 Mistral Spyder, the 1968 Ghibli Spyder 2001 Spyder and designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. This model Maserati went back to the U.S. market. In the footsteps of that long history with the GranCabrio a new chapter, because never before produced a four-seater convertible in Viale Ciro Menotti Maserati factory. Four excellent seats, so the rear passengers can enjoy a high comfort. "
The Maserati convertible will be launched later this year, early next year after which he will be available worldwide.
