Dutch GT4 Championship at Zandvoort Easter races

The annual Easter races at Zandvoort were dominated by the Dutch premiere of a new racing class, the Dutch GT4 Championship. This class has Zandvoort for the first time in several years back a multi-brand championship in the ranks. With a starting field of 22 cars, spectacular sports cars from brands like Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ginetta, Ford Mustang and Porsche offered the full championship spectacle. The reactions of the audience were very enthusiastic.
Jeroen Bleekemolen will be remembered as the first winner in the new class. He won the first race with the Corvette about 25 minutes, followed by Menno Kuus (Ginetta) and Porsche driver Bas Schothorst. The second GT4 race, also with a duration of 25 minutes, yielded a double victory for Porsche, with Paul as the winner of Splunteren for Christian Frank Wood. Duncan Huisman ended with the BMW M3 as the third. The main race with mandatory pit stop for 50 minutes and the teams with two drivers were in action, the ability to change riders, was won by the Porsche duo Christiaan Bastiaans Phil and Frank Wood. Solo rider Pim Reed came with his Aston Martin crossed the finish line in second, followed by Quint Engel and Menno Kuus with the Ginetta G50.

The first round of the Dunlop Sport Maxx Clio Cup was won by Ronald Morien (Match Racing) for the two ladies of the Royal Army team, Sheila Verschuur and Sandra van der Sloot. Harders' Plaza Racing driver Robert van den Berg won the second race, again for both the Army ladies, this time in reverse order: Van der Sloot was the second, third Verschuur.
The Touring Car Diesel Cup won Ruud and Rene Steenmetz (VW TDI) long-distance race for Morien-Davis (VW TDI) and Baars-Roeleveld, the new Volvo C30 D5 by the racing debut in the class the first podium finish gave . The second race of the weekend was won by Jeroen den Boer (Toyota Corolla 2.2d) for Nooren-Wildschut (BMW 123d) and Morien-de Groot.
In both games of the Northern European Cup Formula Renault 2.0, which started the season at Zandvoort, finished three riders from the German Motopark team on the first three places. In the first race triumphed Brit Adrian Quaife-Hobbs for his team mates Antonio Felix da Costa and Kevin Magnussen. In the second race win of Magnussen and Marco Da Costa Sorenson. Best Dutch in the first race was MP Motorsport rider Nigel Melker fifth in the race Bart Hylkema, also for the German team Motopark convenience.
